Welcome back to the Mix Tape Monday. Again, no rhyme or reason, just whatever the fuck I want to put up. If anyone has any requests on future segments then feel free to leave something in the comments. For this week we will cover a band I happened onto by chance a few years back, and has been out of the scene for a little bit, but sounds like they are making a comeback this year.

These guys have an album from 2003 called “The Strangest Things“, and one that came out after this one in 2005 called “There’s a Fire“, which is an incredibly solid album as well. They don’t have anything out since then, but according to the news on their website they played SXSW this year, and are in the process of recording a new album. I think their last two albums are really pretty solid so hopefully they will be able to duplicate some of that with the new record. It sounds like they are working with someone who has helped produce the National, which is certainly a good thing. Anyway, these guys seem pretty solid and I would say keep a lookout for these guys for whenever their new stuff is dropping or if they go on tour in the summer or fall.

Longwave - Tidalwave - From The Strangest Things
Longwave - Tell Me I’m Wrong - From There’s a Fire

And I will throw in another bonus track today, the great Sebadoh. They are playing at Pitchfork music fest, which I have mentioned before, and I really hope I will be able to go, because it should be awesome.

Sebadoh - Magnet’s Coil (Acoustic) - From Rebound

So … what you’re saying is that Longwave’s music is … SOLID. What I want to know, though, is it HEAVY?
