The infamous band that has rolled through huge buzz, backlash, strange backtracking and just about everything else is embarking on another headlining tour this spring/summer with Mates of State. That’s a fairly notable one-two punch, and the Black Kids seem to have gained quite a bit of popularity despite their tenuous relationship with the blogging community, and having Mates of State open for you is kind of notable and surprising in its own right. This is really surprising; with as jam packed as the Mates of State were even in Dallas last spring, it’s kind of odd to think they would relegate themselves to opening for Black Kids. Especially since the Mates as headliners filled up Granada, which is where this Dallas show will be. Huh.
