After watching Frightened Rabbit I had to go buy their latest album, which came out in mid April. In addition to Daigle's comments I must add the following: Frightened Rabbit are my favorite surprise of the year. I knew nothing about them, save a listen on their myspace, going into the show. I was completely blown away. Incredibly tight and energized live show with great banter as Daigle mentioned.

If favorite things list includes free stuff, some forlorn lyrics, and an EP with an 80s feel then I suggest you read on. Francis and the Lights recently made their new EP 'Striking' available for free download on their website. It really is an easy and enjoyable listen, that is immediately accesible. It reminds me of a very straightforward and way less abstract Apes and Androids. Also the lead singer reminds me of Caleb Followill from the Kings of Leon. Great news today, Brooklyn Vegan says that Hot Chip has added some new fall tour dates for these United States. Dallas made the cut and I am damn excited to see these guys, and dance my shoes off. Made in the Dark is probably my second favorite album of the year behind Blood Moon from Apes & Androids, so I'm hoping for a good one here.

We're getting really close now kids. As you can see above, Radiohead have invested some money in a new lighting setup. Supposedly its some low energy LED system, I don't really care what it is because it looks bad ass.

It appears that The Ting Tings are next in line for iTunes commercial stardom. I love this British duo, and have been biting my nails in anticipation of their debut LP, "We Started Nothing", on 5/20. The tour dates listed below are bookended with dates in the UK. Hopefully good album sales, and the certain increase in popularity of this commercial, will get them back out on the road for everyone who misses them on this leg.
