Um, yeah, so holy shit you guys.  Ben wasn't lying when he gushed about the awesomeness of Wolf Parade when he saw them in Chicago.  Wolf Parade is incredible live.  I didn't have my proper camera on me at this show (just the iPhone - above, which is taking increasingly out of focus photos, for some reason), so I'll let Ben do a full review of this show when he gets his computer up and running again from the move, but I want to encourage any of you who are in cities that Wolf Parade is destined for on this ...

Islands - Granada - 6/25/08
Islands was awesome.  It's the show that, let's say the French Kicks woke up from their nap, got excited, and reworked all of their music to be high energy.  With two violinists.  Honestly, it was the best show that I have seen in a long while (maybe New Pornographers/Spoon of last November - maybe even longer than that).  They came on the stage and absolutely ripped every song they played and the crowd loved every second of it.  The show was once again at the Granada in Dallas, and when we arrived, AWOL was onstage:

Hot Chip Add Tour Dates
Great news today, Brooklyn Vegan says that Hot Chip has added some new fall tour dates for these United States. Dallas made the cut and I am damn excited to see these guys, and dance my shoes off. Made in the Dark is probably my second favorite album of the year behind Blood Moon from Apes & Androids, so I'm hoping for a good one here. Rheinborg also did a post on this show, so check that out because mine is not the same. First, Film School was ok, but they only played like 6 songs and just sort of took off..... Sure, there were like 18 people watching them but boo hoo, Film School. You're there to open. Open the show with more than 20 minutes of music. This reviewer, from Guide Live, wasn't too crazy about the show, and I sort of agree with some of what he is saying.
