Tokyo Police Club @ Metro - 5.5.08
With exams pretty much done now, it is time to return to rocking out, and what better way to do that than with a Tokyo Police Club show, eh? Saw these guys at Schuba's last year and was really impressed. Since then they have finally released their debut album and are touring in bigger venues to bigger crowds. There were two openers for the show last night, Smoosh and Maps & Atlases. Maps & Atlases were completely lights out awesome. They were really high energy, with some great songs. Well last night I ventured up to the great Metro for a little TNT action. I had heard great things about the opener White Denim from Austin, TX, so I showed up early to make sure to catch their set and I'm glad I did, because they killed. I have always loved a solid Nada Surf show, and last night was no different. Clocking in at over 2 hours they once again played a great set with great energy and some good rocking. It is weird to think that I first saw these guys almost 8 years ago up on the hill in Boulder with a crowd of about 25 people.
