Lollapalooza Aftershow Aftermath
Well it has been a crazy morning of website errors and whatnot, but I am happy to say our happy little DBF group will be rolling to exactly the shows we wanted to go to, the Rogue Wave on Friday and the BSS on Saturday (with Yeasayer opening). It is a good thing that Sunday seems to be the slowest day of the festival for people I like since I will most likely be worn the fuck out after all of this madness. Should be good times though. Incredible, incredible show. I had always heard Man Man puts on quite a live show and boy they weren't kidding. This was something else for sure. I arrived to the good ole LSA (or the place where they hold prom, as Marcus and I call it) at around 9, the stated time on the website. I didn't really know if that meant doors, or show, or what, but I arrived to about 500 people in line around the block waiting to get in, quite a sight indeed. Yeasayer playing '2080' from 'All Hour Cymbals' on Jools Hollands amazing show. I am incredibly excited to see these guys and Man Man at The Loft on 4/29[buy tix]. Yes the devil Ticketmaster is selling these but I guess you could take a chance on tickets at the door. According to Man Man's site they have already sold out the first 4 shows so wait at your own risk. I also think it bares mentioning that I HATE the lack of a 'Later...' type show being on in America. ACL Lineup Released Today
ACL Lineup was released today. Now, there may be someone out there who is excited about this lineup, but it doesn't really do it for me. When you compare this thing up against the sheer festival gold that Lollapalooza doled out last week, it's not quite what I was looking forward to. Mind you there are some incredibly quality acts in the lineup down the list like Hot Chip, MGMT, Man Man and Yeasayer, but the headliners are not even close to Lolla, although they do have Raconteurs.
